The benefit of baking in a foil

The first benefit obviously is the ease of use. It can keep all the moisture and juiciness locked in, making your Salmon moist and tender every time. There is also no dirty dish to clean so its a win-win situation.

You can also use parchment paper if you like.

Baked salmon oven temperature

Generally, A large side of Salmon bakes at 375 degrees (Fahrenheit) in 15 -20 minutes, however, the cooking time could vary based on the thickness of the fillet itself.

Our Salmon fillet was 1.2 lbs. and it was quite thick thus it took 20 minutes to cook.

What should be the baked Salmon temperature?

For safe consumption, The USDA recommends cooking Salmon to an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F.

The best way to check the internal temperature is to check it with an instant-read thermometer. We use one in our kitchen and we never have to worry about over or under-cooking anything.

Here is one on Amazon.
