Best Shrimp Fried Rice

Completely homemade and 1000 times better than your take out. Simple ingredients you can get from your local grocery store.

  • Oil – 4 tablespoons
  • Chopped Garlic – 1 tablespoon
  • Peas – 1 Cup
  • Chopped Carrots – 1 Cup
  • Sliced Onions – 1 Cup
  • Medium Shrimp – 8 Pieces
  • Salt & Soy sauce – as you like
  • Black Pepper – as you like
  • Eggs – 2 of them
  • Cooked chilled white rice
  • Ketchup – 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped Green Onion – 1 Cup
  • Thai Green Chili – 4 Pieces


  1. Heat a sauté pan over high heat until very hot, about 2 minutes. Add 4 tablespoon oil
  2. Once hot add minces garlic and let it turn brown
  3. Add peas, carrots, and onions, let it sauté until soft and cooked through
  4. Now introduce the Shrimps into the pan. On high heat, you can fry the shrimp on one side of the pan until it gets brown
  5. Add some salt and soy sauce to the mix, and some black pepper
  6. Once our mix is getting thoroughly cooked, add eggs on the side of the pan and our goal is to make scramble egg all in the same pan
  7. Add a little bit of salt to the egg
  8. At this point add the cooked chilled rice to the mix
  9. Add some salt and say sauce to the rice and ketchup
  10. Add some green onions and green chili before removing the pan from high heat
  11. Time to devour!

Note: Make sure to use cooked chilled rice. A fresh batch of warm (or even lukewarm) rice will not fry well when it hits the hot pan and will result in soggy and sticky clumps.
